A lot of noise came up after the final hand of WSOP  Main Event and the subject is slow-roll! The runner-up finisher, Tony Miles, accused the actual champion, John Cynn for unfair play, which caused the reaction of many people from the poker world.

What do you think? Was this a slow-roll in the final hand?

Cynn opened with KClub SuitJClub Suit, Miles 3bet him with QClub Suit8Heart Suit. The flop came: KHeart SuitKDiamond Suit5Heart Suit. Miles made a continuation bet and Cynn just called. The turn brought  8Diamond Suit and Miles pushed all-in. After thinking for a while Joh Cynn made a call. When Miles saw what Cyn had, he was shocked why he took so long for this, according to him, easy call. However, Cynn immediately apologized and told Miles that he didn’t have an intention to slow-roll him, he just wanted to think thru.

Maybe the most interesting Tweets come from Phil Galfond.

Mike Matusow also commented on this situation in his recognizable style, of course.

However, Tony Miles didn’t take long to regret his accusations and apologize to John Cynn, who he considers as a very good person and friend.

“We were playing for millions of dollars and John had every right to take his time and talk through his decision. My immediate reaction of angst and frustration was unwarranted and I take full responsibility for what I said.”, Miles announced.

What do you think? Was this a slow-roll or not? Tell us your opinion.

The most prestigious poker tournament, World Series of Poker Main Event, came to an end!  This year champion is John Cynn, 33-years old from Indianapolis.

WSOP winner John Cynn

Main Event Champion John Cynn

After 10 days of fight in the last two weeks, he managed to win the bracelet.  Defeating a field of 7.874 players turned his $10.000 into a fantastic $8.8 million dollars! Just to remind, this is not his first significant score on WSOP Main Event. In 2016, John Cynn was out 11th, just before the final table, and collected a reward of $650.000.

After winning the title of this year World Series of Poker Main Event, he said that he realizes how important this money is but he won’t let it change him:

“The money is very significant, but I do like to think that I don’t need the money to be happy,”  said Cynn. “But at the same time, practically, it’s going to make things a lot easier — things  I want to do in life,  even to my parents, this is money that they never could’ve imagined. It’s  definitely going to be life-changing.”

HEADS UP

Heads up 10 hours fight between John Cynn and Tony Miles

For winning the bracelet John Cynn had to beat a very tough opponent, Tony Miles.  Two of them were playing heads up for over 10 hours, which is a new record of hands played in WSOP heads-up (199), and hands played on the final table of WSOP (442)

Heads up began with both players having the similar stack (119bb), Miles had a bit more chips. On the final hand John Cynn opened with KClub SuitJClub Suit, Miles 3bet him with QClub Suit8Heart Suit. The flop came: KHeart SuitKDiamond Suit5Heart Suit. Miles made a continuation bet and Cynn just called. The turn brought  8Diamond Suit and Miles pushed all-in. After thinking for a while Joh Cynn made a call which got him a first place cash prize and most prestigious bracelet in the poker world. The runner-up Tony Miles won $5 million!

Here you can see the whole final table with finishing positions  and cash prizes:

Phil Hellmuth won his 15th gold bracelet in 2018 WSOP! This time he is the winner of $5.000 Turbo No-Limit Holdem Event!

wsop, phill hellmuth

Can anything stop this man from winning titles on the WSOP? Phil Hellmuth, the legend himself!

Phill was already the all-time leader in WSOP bracelets having 14 of them. Now, after defeating a field of total 452 entries he managed to win his 15th WSOP title and a 1st place prize of $485.082! After winning Phil announced: “It means everything. I want to be remembered in two ways: 1.) For having won 24 bracelets, and 2.) For starting the positivity movement.”

To remind, Hellmuth recently released a book “#POSITIVITY” for which he got an inspiration after realizing how huge influence he has on fans.  “The spotlight that I have becomes a responsibility. Once I realized that I could inspire people, I took that seriously”, said Hellmuth.

As he admits, Phill didn’t have a good period for some time: “It’s humbling. I haven’t had a very good summer, but I’ve kept myself positive. Every night I come back to the room, saying, ‘Life is good, relax. Life is good, relax.’ Before this tournament, I called my wife and said, ‘Honey, I’m not sure I want to play this event. She said, ‘Get in there in play.’” And he did, and he did win a 15th bracelet and $450.000!

His place on the final table of $5000 Turbo No-Limit Holdem Event also found Steven Wolansky, a two-time bracelet winner. He even managed to knock out 3 players from the final table, and reach heads up with 3 to 1 lead against Hellmuth, but that wasn’t enough… Maybe the major hand was when both players moved all-in preflop, Hellmuth with  KDiamond Suit10Diamond Suit and Wolansky with  KHeart SuitJHeart Suit. Ten on the river brought Hellmuth a huge pot and a chip lead. Just a few hands after that Steven Wolansky pushed all-in from the button with  ADiamond Suit9Club Suit and Hellmuth called with 3Spade Suit3Heart Suit. Flop brought a 9Spade Suit for Wolansky bout also a 3Club Suit for Hellmuth.  After the blank turn and river, Phill scored another win while Wolansky won $299.907 as the runner-up finisher.

Some people admire Phil and some, from the other side, have a negative opinion about him. However, like him or not, he is definitely a legend and he is definitely still around!
