The Stars Rewards program makes it easy to win rewards tailored to you, across all PokerStars gaming products.

Earn reward points every time you play real money games (subject to certain conditions). Collect enough points to complete your progress bar. When you do that, you’ll win a Chest loaded with rewards you’ll want to use – including StarsCoin and free play!

You can collect chest and open it before, during or after your session, and contain rewards that relate to the activities you enjoy! Rewards can range from StarsCoin that you can spend in the Rewards Store, to a variety of tickets and items. There are six different Chest types of increasing size and value.

  • If you Win at least one Chest in every rolling 28-day period to remain on your current Chest level.
  • Win 10 Chests within 28 days and we’ll upgrade you to a bigger Chest. That will require more points to unlock but will contain bigger rewards on average (see above). Your progress bar will turn blue when you’re approaching an upgrade, and we’ll let you know exactly how long you have left to earn it.

If you are at a higher level than the Blue Chests, and your current progress bar is close to expiring, you will be able to exchange your progress bar for a lower level Chest.

For example, if your Diamond Chest progress bar is over 50% filled and you’re within 10 days of it expiring, you may exchange it for a Gold Chest. Your next Chest will then be Gold – win 10 Gold Chests within 28 days to move back up to the Diamond Level.

If you are eligible to exchange your progress bar, you will see the option available to you in ‘My Stars’.

Universal Championship of Online Poker at MPN

Microgaming Poker Network (MPN) confirmed a new edition of the Universal Championship of Online Poker (UCOP). This great series will bring 94 events. It will take place from 15th September until 29th September. Find all the details in the text below.

A few weeks ago, Alex Scott, Managing Director of the MPN poker division announced that we will have another UCOP this year. To remind you, the network has already hosted a UCOP series this year in April. Alex also said that we’ll have the chance to compare both festivals, although it’s still unclear whether this edition will feature the traditional leaderboard.

Let’s make a comparison of these two UCOP Series:

Universal Championship 1

The only thing that will remain the same is the range of buy-ins. Like the last time, they will start from €3,3  and go all the way up to €320.

As you can see, the majority of the UCOP tournaments will have the buy-ins between €11 and €110.

All-in Cash Out – Another innovation by PokerStars

PokerStars introduced another innovation for the cash game tables – All-in Cash Out. Check out what is it all about and see whether you like it or not.

All-in Cash Out

All players will find themselves in an all-in situation at some point, with all their chips at stake and no way to further influence the hand.

When there are community cards still to come, even a big favorite will get unlucky and lose the hand sometimes.

All-in Cash Out is a feature that gives eligible players who are all-in the option to collect the value of their hand without having to play the hand to its conclusion.

How All-in Cash out works?

 

When an all-in situation occurs in a cash game and players’ hands are revealed (before the river and with no more action pending), PokerStars calculates each hand’s probability to win the pot and assign cash out valu and any side pots in which they are involved) as usual.

Once a player chooses to cash out they will no longer be eligible to contest any portion of the pot. They will receive the offered amount added to their stack immediately.

Players declining the cash out option will still need the best hand at showdown to win the pot, even if all their opponents have cashed out.

Calculating the Cash Out Amount

The cash out value offered is calculated per the formula below:

Hand value = (pot size – rake) x probability of winning

PokerStars apply a 1% cash out fee on the value of your hand (not the entire pot), deducted prior to offering the cash out amount.

You can opt-out from the All-in Cash Out feature entirely via the ‘Settings’ menu.

Example

Game: 0.5/1 No-Limit Hold’em

Pot: 100 (rake 2.5)

Pre-flop, Player 1 has a pair of aces and a winning probability of 81.95%, while Player 2 has a pair of kings and a winning probability of 18.05%.

Player 1’s cash out value will be: (100 – 2.5) x 81.95% x 99% = 79.10

Player 2’s cash out value will be: (100 – 2.5) x 18.05% x 99% = 17.42
