UNFOLD HOLD’EM BY POKERSTARS
Frustrated after folding cards that would have flopped the nuts? Well, now you can still win a piece of the action with Unfold Hold’em by PokerStars!
Introducing Unfold Hold’em
Unfold means just that: if you folded your cards pre-flop, you can UNFOLD them after it. It’s like poker with the benefit of hindsight. Actually, it’s more than that. It’s a lot of fun. And here’s why.
It cuts out all the waiting around for another hand.
There’s no reason to wait for good cards because you can Unfold the bad ones. And with the option to Unfold, you get to stay in the hand for longer. That’s before you open up a whole new chapter on hold’em strategy.
The Rules of Unfold Hold’em
At the start of each hand, every player pays an Unfold ante. These antes form the Unfold pot.
The hand then plays out according to normal Texas Hold’em rules. However, all players who folded pre-flop are given the chance to ‘Unfold’ once the flop is dealt. To do so, they must pay the Unfold bet, which is the sum of the Unfold pot. The choice to pay this Unfold bet is made concurrently – all eligible players decide at the same time whether to play for the Unfold pot, and those who do are clearly identified once the decision period ends.
Players who pay the Unfold bet cannot make any further bets after this point. The rest of the hand is played out among the main pot players while the Unfold players spectate. The Unfold pot is awarded to the Unfold player with the strongest 5-card poker hand after the river is dealt.
If the main pot is won before the full board is dealt, all remaining community cards will be dealt to determine the winner of the Unfold pot.
Please note: a minimum of four players must be dealt into a hand for the Unfold ante to be collected.
Unfold Hold’em is played as a No Limit game.
