partypoker heads back to Vienna with €500,000 guarantee Grand Prix Austria, 29th September- 9th October
Partypoker is heading back to Vienna next month for a second edition of Grand Prix Austria. One of the most spectacular poker destinations in Europe.
The €500,000 guaranteed partypoker Grand Prix Austria takes place at Montesino Poker from 29th September to 9th October. Players choose from a host of online or live Day 1s – as well as exclusive online feeder satellites starting next Monday (28th August) from as little as $1.10.
The debut Grand Prix Austria took place in April and was a massive success. There were more than 2,500 entries for the €200+€25 buy-in event generating a €518,000 prize pool – easily beating the event’s €500k guarantee. Slovakia’s Andrej Desset took it down for €92,000. Additionally, he made history a few weeks later when he won Grand Prix Germany in Rozvadov for an additional €100,000.
Among the 344 players who made money in Vienna were European stars such as Sebastian Pauli, Konstantinos Nanos and Christophe Gross. Additionally, partypoker Ambassador Natalia Breviglieri who finished 34th for €1,800 and Jan-Peter Jachtmann who was 227th for €400.
PartyPoker is looking forward to building on previous success
For the return visit in September, partypoker is again putting up a €500,000 guarantee. Furthermore, we are hoping to beat April’s sensational turnout. Among those set to compete in Vienna are partypoker sponsored pros Marcel Luske, Natalia Breviglieri and Jan-Peter Jachtmann.
Once again, partypoker is running its popular Golden Chip Promo. The first 100 players to make Day 2 will receive a Golden Chip. If a Golden Chip player manages to make the Final Table, they win a $10k package to the Caribbean Poker Party in November.
Feeder satellites will kick off from next Monday, making it possible to qualify for Grand Prix Austria from as little as $1.10. The first online Day 1 is on partypoker on 3rd September, and costs just $120+$15 to enter. There will also be numerous live Day 1s around Austria, starting Friday 29th September and taking place at Montesino Poker. In addition to eight partner casinos including Bregenz, Innsbruck and Salzburg.
The fantastic Grand Prix Austria structure gives players a 50,000 starting stack with all players making Day 2 guaranteed a min cash of €250. For those short on time, a series of turbo and hyper turbo Day 1 events will also be available. These are taking place both online on partypoker, and live at Montesino Poker and Concord Card Casino Simmering in Vienna.
The online Day 2 is on Saturday 7th October, with live Day 2s in Vienna on 8th October. The live final Day 3 is on 9th October at Montesino Poker. Consequently, we will see the blind levels increase to 60 minutes.
Beautiful Cities bring more excitement for the upcoming tournament
The Montesino is one of Europe’s premier poker rooms with a long history of running major live poker events. There are more than 40 tables available for both tournaments and cash games. More so, they have restaurants, and sports bar with a fantastic terrace affording panoramic views across the city.
Vienna is a beautiful city located on the banks of the famous Danube river. Once home to Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert and Johann Strauss, the city is often described as the cultural capital of Europe. It’s easily accessible by plane or train, and the wealth of cafes, bars and restaurants make it a perfect destination for poker players.
Sponsored pro Marcel Luske said: “I am really looking forward to a return visit to Vienna. It’s such a wonderful city with great bars and restaurants, and simply stunning architecture. The Montesino Poker card room is one of the best in Europe: super friendly and knowledgeable staff – and very professional dealers. This is going to be a great event for poker players from all over the world.”
partypoker LIVE President John Duthie said: “We are really thrilled to be heading back to Vienna next month. The last event was such a huge success and we expect even more players to compete in this second edition. Personally, I love Vienna – I have been coming here to play poker for more years than I care to mention and it’s always a great atmosphere. It’s also an incredibly easy city to get to, which is a major plus for poker players of all kinds.”
